Lauren Caswell

Coach, INT2

Lauren is thrilled to be returning once again to coach for the club where her own swimming career started!

Eleven summers ago, Lauren started competitive swimming as a young and enthusiastic “MiniViking”. With the Vikings, she progressed from a B swimmer in her rookie year to a multiple provincial medalist four summers later. She then moved to VPSC, where she won multiple medals with fellow Viking coaches –Alex K, Kiersten G, and Mackenzie G. Lauren’s most recent swimming accomplishment included swimming for the UBC Thunderbirds varsity team. As a “Ladybird”, she helped UBC win two national championships. Last spring, Lauren decided to hang up her goggles and her UBC cap to focus on academics and coaching with the Vikings. During most of her swimming career, Lauren focused on the IM, but her strengths are in butterfly and freestyle.

Lauren is currently in her third year at UBC, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in science with a major in Cognitive Systems. Lauren hopes to pass on her passion for swimming to the INT2 group. Her goal is to get her swimmers to reach their utmost potential by developing strong swimming fundamentals in a fun and safe environment.

Last summer, Lauren was the coach for the JR group of the Vikings. She is currently the head coach of UBC Masters Swimming, and has coached for the Vikings winter maintenance program, UBC performance swim camp and the Fastlane swim club. Lauren is looking forward to the upcoming season and can’t wait to continue building on the Vikings tradition of success.
