KidSport Vancouver Sweat-a-thon 2020!!

Message from KidSport Vancouver

Welcome to the inaugural KidSport Vancouver Sweat-a-thon!

Every summer, for the last 11 years, we have been hosting the annual KidSport Vancouver Swimathon to raise money for local children and families. Last year, we were able to raise over $25,000 and this year our goal is to exceed $30,000. However, things are looking a little different this year…

Because of the restrictions on gatherings and we aren’t sure if Kits Pool would be open for the event, we are getting together virtually and raising money for local children and families one step (or drop of sweat) at a time!   Introducing the KidSport Vancouver Sweat-a-thon! Anyone can participate! The goal is to go outside, be active, get that heart rate up, and commit to SWEAT! Whether it be going for a bike ride, a run around the neighborhood, shooting some hoops in your backyard, going for a swim in a lake or jumping rope, anything is possible! It’s not about how far you go, or how often throughout the week you do an activity, but how much fun we have while being active outside and how much money we can raise to help remove financial barriers that prevent kids from playing organized sport.

As a continuous supporter of the KidSport Vancouver Swimathon, we wanted to reach out to you directly to participate in the Sweat-a-thon. We hope that you will sign up and participate in the KidSport Vancouver Sweat-a-thon this year. All it takes is committing to your level of activity over the 10 days, setting up your fundraising page, raising at least $50, and logging your activity during that time! We hope that you and your friends and family will fundraise more and there will be prizes for our top fundraisers!

Spread the word and let’s raise money to support kids playing sports by sharing this link with your friends and family. Challenge them to join the Sweat-a-thon and ask them to donate to the cause. We will have great prizes for the top fundraisers!

WHEN

The Sweat-a-thon will take place from Wednesday, July 15th until Friday, July 24th and you will have that 10 day period to complete your commitment and log it on your fundraising page.

WHERE

All throughout your city! Don’t wait until the official week, start practicing now and SWEAT!

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Sign up here to register and set up your profile. Include a photo of yourself playing your favourite sport or physical activity and let the world know what you are committing to doing during the KidSport Vancouver Sweat-a-thon. From there, start fundraising and once the KidSport Vancouver  Sweat-a-thon kicks off, share photo and video updates with the group through your fundraising page! Don’t forget to share what you are doing with your personal networks on social media using #KidSportYVR and ask them for support in your fundraising.
