Vikings Summer BBQ (and Water Fight!) in the Park 2017
July 5, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
We are once again having our awesome annual Summer BBQ at Chaldecott Park!
The club will provide burgers, hot dogs and buns, Vikings parents will potluck the rest, and we’ll all bring the fun!
Please advise if there are any food allergies (gluten) or vegetarian meals that need to be provided ~ email to Social Coordinators Gayle and Winnie at firstname.lastname@example.org.
When: Wednesday, July 5; meeting at 6:30 pm / dogs and burgers served starting at 7:00 pm
Where: Chaldecott Park, near King Edward and Wallace
What: Food and fun (including a “soak your coaches” water gun fight – swimmers, make sure to bring your water guns)!!
The burgers/hot dogs will be served starting at 7:00pm.
Just like at the Blue & White meet, we ask that all Vikings families bring a food or drink item to share.
Please RSVP here.
We have assigned food / drink based on your childrens’ swim groups, as follows:
JR: Fruit Plate (small)
MV2: Drinks – water – 1L or 2L containers – no juice boxes
INT2: Salads OR Sides
SR1: Drinks – water – 1L or 2L containers – no juice boxes
If you have more than one swimmer in the family, please bring food for each swimmer’s group. Please bring items ready to serve on labeled platters or compostable or recyclable plates.
We will also ask everyone to bring your own reusable utensils, plates and cups as we will NOT be providing these.
Please DO NOT BRING disposable plates, cups, or cutlery. The Vikings have gone GREEN!
Because it takes a village, we also rely on our parents to bring party “equipment” to the park. Here’s what we need:
-1 to 2 more larger barbeques
-3 or 4 tables
-2 large coolers with ice
If you can contribute any of the above, please email our Social Coordinators Gayle and Winnie at email@example.com.
The BBQ is also another opportunity to get some volunteer hours in at a VIK social event. Here’s what we need:
-5 people for set up & buffet organization/monitoring
-4 people to cook
-2 people to monitor waste
-4 people for clean up
If you can help out, please email our Social Coordinator Gayle and Winnie at firstname.lastname@example.org.
For those that have already volunteered to bring their BBQ, we ask if it could be brought by 5:15 pm so we can start cooking by the latest 5:30 pm.
