Junior Leaders – We Want YOU!

admin Coaching, Job Opportunities

We are seeking five eager and professional swimmers who would like to gain coaching experience by becoming a Junior Leader. This is a great stepping stone to someday becoming a Vikings Junior Coach, and possibly even a Group Coach. In fact, two of our current Junior Coaches previously took part in the VIKs Junior Leading program.

The role of a Junior Leader is to help manage swim practices and provide technical advice to our younger swimmers. The Junior Leader program is a great opportunity to explore your capacity as a coach; watch, listen and learn from our Group Coaches; and assist with group management. You will become a mentor to the younger swimmers, build your leadership skills, continue the legacy of swimming excellence, and support the club’s vision for future progress. For those of you familiar with our Junior Leader program, please note that we are modifying it this year to provide the best coaching possible for our younger swimmers (MV2, MV1, and Junior groups).

Applicants must be at least 13 years old and be available to attend practice a minimum of 3 times every 2 weeks. The program will start the first week of June.  Both current Vikings and Vikings alumni are invited to apply.

Successful candidates will attend a mandatory training session during the first week of June.

If you are interested, please submit a copy of your resume, cover letter, and availability to Coach Sarah here by May 27th, 2016.
