VANCOUVER VIKINGS SWIM CLUB
The Vancouver Vikings Swim Club is a non-profit, parent-run, competitive summer swim club founded 1981 as the Mount Pleasant Swim Club. In 1984, we became the Vancouver Vikings to reflect our growing community. We are part of the Vancouver & District Region of the BC Summer Swimming Association (BCSSA), alongside 8 other clubs: North Shore Winter Club Marlins, North Vancouver Cruisers, Squamish Pirates, and Vancouver Super Sharks.
MISSION
Our Club’s goal is to introduce young athletes to competitive swimming, teach skills required for racing, and encourage each swimmer to achieve their personal best in a fun and supportive environment.
PHILOSOPHY
Our priority is to foster a love of swimming while developing competitive skills. We emphasize fun while building valuable life skills in and out of the pool, including:
CHARACTER through commitment, hard work and perseverance.
EXCELLENCE by striving for personal bests and achievements.
SPORTSMANSHIP through teamwork and respect in both wins and losses.
COMMUNITY by creating strong friendships and a sense of family within the club.
ACTIVE LIVING by promoting health and fitness.
Beyond the pool, the Vikings organizes social events for swimmers and their families throughout the season. These events strengthen our team spirit and community, and encourages parent involvement.
